Home Studio
A wide range of Deborah's silk paintings, coloured pencil drawings and other items are always on display in her home studio, Cat & Mouse Designs. To schedule a visit, simply send an e-mail or call (778) 895-0211.

 

Tourism Langley

The gift corner at the Tourism Langley office features a selection of Deborah's silk scarves, art cards and calendars. Located at the Willoughby Events Centre, 7888 200th Street, winter hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

Surrey's Art Gallery complex is a hub for the arts in that region, offering exhibitions, theatre performances, artists' talks and more, as well as housing a fine gift shop of locally-made art and craft, and an art rental program. The gift shop features an excellent selection of small art pieces and gift ware, while the art rental program offers a wonderful way to bring original art into your home for a nominal monthly fee (to rent art you must be a Surrey Art Gallery Association member; memberships are inexpensive and are available at the gift shop). AWARDS

FIRST PLACE - Arts 2011

Deborah's silk painting "Killdeer" won first place in its category at the Arts 2011 juried exhibition of visual art at the Surrey Art Gallery in Surrey, BC (the exhibition is now closed).

In September 2011, this painting was juried into the Federation of Canadian Artists Autumn Salon exhibition (the exhibition is now closed).

 

 

JUROR'S CHOICE - Hooves, Plows & Planting Fields

Deborah's silk painting "A Bend in the Road" won a Juror's Choice award at the Hooves, Plows and Planting Fields juried exhibition at the Langley Centennial Museum in Fort Langley, BC (the exhibition is now closed)).

 


 

 

"Waiting for Walk Time," which graced the cover of Deborah's 2011 calendar, won the My Art Channel Award of Excellence at the juried artSpacific regional exhibition in Delta, BC in March 2011.

This painting was also selected by for exhibition during the First Annual Fraser Valley Biennale  which ran in July 2011 at the Mission Art Gallery.

This painting was juried in to the Federation of Canadian Artists 70th Anniversary Show in November 2011.

Langley Art Studio Tour
As both coordinator and participant in this annual event, now in its third year, I must say how pleased I was with the 2011 Tour (Sept 24-25 & Oct 1-2). Record numbers of visitors enjoyed traveling around Langley to visit an unprecedented number of artists at a range of studios and other stops of interest. Thank you to all who visited my studio, and to all the participants who helped make this year's even such a success!

A Day By the River
A limited number of copies are still left—only $15 each and proceeds benefit the wild animals being cared for and rehabilitated by the Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley, BC. This children's book by Mavis Sutton is illustrated by Deborah Strong and is published by the Critter Care Wildlife Society. For more information, click here.
