Treasure of
Nariva: Blue & Gold
Macaws
Hand-painted Silk
Sold - Horizons Art Gallery, St. James, Trinidad
The Caribbean island nation of
Trinidad has implemented a program to re-establish these wonderful birds
in
their natural habitat.
Located in the Nariva Swamp, the Bush-Bush Wildlife Sanctuary is now home to a
dozen pairs of
released birds whose welfare
and activities are monitored by a
team of volunteers.
The hope is that these pioneering birds
will seed a new population of wild
macaws that will again grace the rainforest.
