Many artists find cats to be challenging subjects, perhaps because of that elusive quality which can make it difficult to pinpoint their personality. But cat lovers know there's something about these furry critters, who can be sweet and cuddly one minute and cold or even downright hostile the next, that makes each one of them special. Of the many cats that have shared Deborah's life, four are represented in portraits on this page (Rupert and Jasper, Elizabeth, and Simon). She understands the uniqueness of a cat is not just in his/her appearance, but that each has a personality that's one of a kind, something she brings to life in the cat portraits she creates.

Sadly, sweet Jasper (pictured in the foreground above), passed away in April 2011 after a struggle with cancer. He was only 9 years old. We will always miss our sweet, gentle giant.
